Program Committee’s address

Alexander Grudzinski

On June 23-24, 2016, Lobachevsky University will hold its traditional International Scientific and Practical Conference on socio-economic and humanitarian issues. This year, the title of the conference is "Innovative Economy: Regulation and Competition".

We have deliberately confronted in the conference title the two extreme views on the possible ways of development of the knowledge economy in order to open a broad debate on the issue, which seems more relevant than ever in the current crisis conditions. The current discussion, which is centered around the government agencies intended to regulate innovation, shows that the possibilities of the prescriptive approach to innovation management in the country have been overestimated. Is a purely liberal approach to innovation possible? Is there a "golden mean" in choosing the method to establish an innovative knowledge society? We propose to discuss these and some other questions concerning the development of Russia and the world innovation system under the current circumstances from the scientific standpoint of economics, finance, management, sociology, law, and political science.

When preparing the list of conference sections, we have refused from the traditional discipline-based approach. We offer a problem-oriented list of sections, where each issue will be discussed on the basis of an interdisciplinary approach. Thus, we assume that each section will bring together representatives of different scientific fields who will present their views on the problem under discussion.

Below is a list of sections with a brief listing of issues for discussion. The list of topics for discussion is open and is not limited to the text currently published. We reserve the right to adjust section topics taking into account the proposals of the academic community.
